Alta Branch Library

The Alta Branch Library is an extension of the Teton County Library in Jackson, Wyoming. It is located in the Alta Elementary School in Alta, Wyoming as part of a collaborative agreement with the Teton County (Wyo.) School District. This unique partnership benefits both agencies and requires respect and cooperation from library patrons, school staff and students.

The Alta Elementary School is located adjacent to the St. Francis Episcopal Church and across from the Teton Teepee Lodge in Alta. From Driggs, Idaho, follow Little Avenue/Ski Hill Road toward Grand Targhee Resort. After crossing Stateline Road into Wyoming, turn left at the second street.

Library cards are free to residents of both Teton Counties, Wyo. and Id. The Alta Branch Library circulates books, magazines, audio- and videotapes for adults and children with access to materials from the main branch in Jackson. Computers with Internet access, word processing and Spanish language capabilities are available to the public.

Storytime
Saturdays at 10 and 11 a.m.
Enjoy stories, crafts, puppet shows and play with library staff Sue Heffron or Gretchen Notzold. Alta Branch Library now offers two performances of the same Storytime at 10 and 11 a.m. For ages five and under.

Alta Children's Garden
This interactive children's garden provides a place for toddlers and children to plant flowers, study worms and butterflies, read and relax.
